Miami’s Lloyd Orchard Community Arena is gearing up for one of its biggest community events of the season as Hockey Day in Miami returns Dec. 13 — complete with a chance to skate with Santa.
The day begins with a pancake breakfast by donation from 9 to 10:30 a.m., with the canteen open throughout the event. Families are invited to enjoy breakfast, meet Santa and take in a full slate of minor hockey games featuring teams and players from the Miami area and visiting communities.
The U7s hit the ice at 11:05 a.m. against Manitou, followed by U11 Carman Female vs. Red River at 12:30 p.m. The U13 Morden Female team faces Red River at 2:15 p.m., and the day wraps up with the U11 Morden Gold squad meeting MacGregor at 4 p.m.
Organizers say the annual event brings families together to support local players while celebrating the holiday spirit. “Come on out and support the arena and players,” the arena’s announcement read.
