A months-long investigation into a series of thefts and break-ins across the Interlake has led to the recovery of a significant amount of stolen property and the arrest of a suspect.

Gimli RCMP say officers began receiving reports in recent months of thefts and break and enters at businesses and private properties in Arborg, the RM of Armstrong and the RM of Rockwood.
Police identified a suspect through the investigation and obtained a search warrant for a property in the RM of Rockwood. Officers executed the warrant on March 30.
Among the items recovered was a tractor reported stolen from a private property in the RM of Armstrong on Nov. 28, 2025. Investigators also seized fish finders, LiveScope monitors and an insulated monosuit connected to a break and enter at a Main Street business in Arborg on Jan. 23.
Police say additional recovered property includes seven chainsaws, two blowers and two generators taken from a business on Ardal Street in Arborg on March 15, as well as a tractor stolen from a Highway 68 business on March 14.
Officers also recovered toy tractors and accessories stolen from a Highway 68 business on March 19, along with a utility trailer, tools, liquor, an air compressor and a rifle taken from a private property in Arborg on March 22 and 25.
RCMP say other items believed to be stolen — including tools and various ATV accessories — were also seized. Investigators are working to identify their owners.
Jesse Paluk, 30, of the RM of Rockwood, has been charged with three counts of break and enter, five counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, improper storage of a firearm, possession of a non-restricted firearm while prohibited, and two counts of possession of a firearm without a licence. Paluk has been remanded in custody. Gimli RCMP continue to investigate.
