Gimli RCMP respond to well-being check, find home destroyed by fire

Date:

Gimli RCMP responded to a request to check on the well-being of an individual at a rural residence near Narcisse in the RM of Armstrong on Dec. 24, 2025, at about 10 a.m.

Police arrived to find the residence had been completely destroyed by fire. A neighbour reported a 69-year-old man lived alone in the home.

Human remains were later located in the rubble and are believed to be those of the resident.

Police say the fire is not believed to be suspicious at this time. The investigation continues.
