The event brought together members of the community, including Legion and Ladies Auxiliary members, as well as family and friends. The show featured twelve models ranging in age from 18 months to over 75 years old, showing off clothing supplied by Red Apple Store in Gimli.

Velma Daroux MC’d the afternoon on April 23 while Diane played the music for the models.

One of the highlights of the evening was undoubtedly the delicious dinner that was catered by none other than Legion members themselves under the supervision of   chef Jordan. Guests dined on stuffed chicken breast served with homemade potato salad on a bed of fresh spinach, accompanied by grape tomatoes and a freshly baked dinner roll. And who could forget dessert? Chocolate and white birthday cakes were served to celebrate one member’s 75th birthday (as well as all other April birthdays).

Red Apple Store in Gimli supplied all the clothes and accessories for the models. They also donated a door prize containing an assortment of lights and decorations for the garden. Everyone in attendance received a coupon for 20 per cent off their next visit to Red Apple.

Darroux thanked Tamara the Manager of Red Apple for all her hard work helping the models choose their outfits while keeping everyone organized and out to the catwalk on time; and to Coralea from the Beauty Mark Loft for donating her time and expertise to do the models makeup for the show.

The models included 18 month old Grayson accompanied by his 10 year old sister Sophia, three men, Myles, Ryan and Lincoln and the ladies, Liz, Vera, Charlotte, Sydney, Heather, Stacy and Cheryl. Everyone did a wonderful job. Express photo submitted

Darroux also expressed thanks to the greeters at the door, ticket sellers, bar and kitchen workers and everyone else that helped to make this day a success. Without all of our volunteers we couldn’t have events like these!

And last but not lease, thank you to the Legion President, Lorraine Andrushuk for surprising us with flowers after the show.

All monies raised are for the day to day operations and maintenance of our legion.
