Hallmark movie uses local home and business as set

Date:

Movie set to come out this December

Hawthorne Estates owned by Robert and Tammy Belanger is known in our community as a wedding venue but it recently was transformed into a ballroom for a Hallmark movie that is set to come out this holiday season.

Robert Belanger explained that after coming out to check out the venue the people from Hallmark not only wanted to film at Hawthorne Estates but used his home for a scene in the movie as well.

The movie is Beyond Yonder Star and is a Christmas movie that will be out on Dec. 15.

Though Hawthorne Estates is first and foremost a wedding venue, Belanger said that the idea of it being a movie set was something they were open to.

“It was always in the back of our mind. If a movie ever wanted to shoot here, it could be any movie. It could be a horror movie. It could be, in this case, a ballroom scene. The venue is a timber frame building. It just lends itself to some real character,” he said.

Though Belanger said that he wasn’t able to get a full picture of the plot of the movie from the scenes filmed at Hawthorne Estates, he is looking forward to watching the movie.

He also said that the crew was fantastic to work with and he’d be open to renting out the space for future movies.

“As long as it doesn’t conflict with any weddings,” said Belanger.
