Elm Creek’s Emma Hudson named Manitoba athlete of the week

Elm Creek School standout Emma Hudson has been named the Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week, recognizing her exceptional playmaking ability, leadership and multi-sport commitment.

Hudson, the setter and captain of the Cobras Varsity Girls volleyball team, has helped guide Elm Creek to two tournament wins and two second-place finishes this season. She was also selected as a tournament all-star at the Shaftesbury event. Known for her court awareness and smart ball distribution, she consistently creates scoring opportunities and anchors the team’s defence with relentless energy.

Beyond volleyball, Hudson is a versatile athlete who has also competed in basketball, badminton, track and field, and football throughout her high school career. She maintains a 95 per cent academic average and serves on the school’s student council, earning praise for both her work ethic and her leadership.

The provincial recognition was officially awarded Nov. 12, 2025.
