15-year-old dead in Berens River homicide: RCMP

A 15-year-old boy is dead and RCMP have launched a homicide investigation following a stabbing in Berens River First Nation.

Berens River RCMP said officers were called to a residence in the co

munity at approximately 9:07 a.m. on March 20 after receiving a report of a stabbing.

Police located the injured teen at the home, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP have confirmed the death is being treated as a homicide.

No further details have been released.

Berens River RCMP, along with RCMP Major Crime Services, continue to investigate.
