An Arborg business is dealing with damage and stolen equipment after an early-morning break-in Sunday.

Shattered glass is seen at the entrance of Shachtay Sales & Service Ltd. in Arborg after an early-morning break-in on Sunday. Several generators, chainsaws and other equipment were reported stolen
Mike Shachtay, owner of Shachtay Sales & Service Ltd., said he received an alert indicating a glass break at the store at about 5:40 a.m. and arrived at the business within four minutes.
By the time he arrived, the suspects had already fled after smashing the front door and quickly removing several pieces of equipment from the store.
Items reported stolen include Honda generators, Stihl chainsaws and accessories, and water pumps. Shachtay said a large generator that had been sitting near the front entrance was also taken during the break-in.
Despite the circumstances, Shachtay said he was impressed with the emergency response. After calling 911, RCMP officers arrived within about 15 minutes.
Security footage from several nearby locations captured the incident and is expected to be turned over to RCMP on Monday as the investigation continues.
Shachtay said the store plans to reopen as usual Monday, although the damaged front door will need to be replaced and an insurance claim filed.
RCMP were also reportedly dealing with another break-in over the weekend at the local garbage dump, where a Kubota side-by-side and several batteries were stolen.
Photos shared online show shattered glass at the storefront entrance and inside the shop.
The owner is asking anyone who may see the stolen equipment or have information about the incident to contact them.
Police have not yet released information about suspects.
