Community group expo held in Dunnottar

Date:

Ten community groups from the Village of Dunnottar came together for the first Community Group Expo, hosted by the Dunnottar Sustainability Committee and Age Friendly Dunnottar.

The groups set up information tables at the Matlock Recreation Centre for the June 7 event, bringing awareness to their unique offerings.

Althea Howard with Age Friendly Dunnottar said she was excited to showcase the different local organizations residents can get involved with.

“It is an opportunity for our community members – both new and old – to meet the wide variety of groups we offer,” she said. “Especially for the groups that aren’t the easiest to stumble upon randomly.”

Visitors came and went, enjoying live music from Ken and Dave, free crafts and giveaways, and food from Julia’s Place, Whytewold Emporium and the Matlock Recreation Centre canteen.

“It was a great day for people to find something that complements their interests,” Howard added.
