Get ready to rebound into fitness as Mega Bounce classes arrive in Lundar for the first four Tuesdays of March.
Two sessions will run each evening at the Lundar School gym: a kids’ class for ages six to 12 from 5:30 to 6 p.m. at $5 per class, followed by a 13-plus session from 6 to 7 p.m. at $20 per class.
RM of Coldwell recreation director Breanna Malcolm said she is excited to introduce the upbeat program to the community.
“We are always looking for ways to enhance our recreation programming,” she said. “It’s an added bonus when we are able to find people to lead programs who are from right here in the Interlake.”
The sessions will be led by Bounce Body Fit–certified Meagen Hildebrand, owner of the mobile Teulon-based Mega Bounce.
“This workout is like no other,” Hildebrand said. “It’s actually fun, and everyone who tries a class leaves smiling.”
Participants bounce along to upbeat music for a full-body workout, with each song targeting a different muscle group — including arms, legs, abs and pelvic floor — while also building endurance and cardiovascular fitness.
Hildebrand said classes are suitable for all skill levels, with participants encouraged to move at their own pace. Handlebars are available for those who would like additional balance support.
Bounce classes offer a variety of benefits, she added, including improved coordination and circulation, mood-boosting effects and a low-impact workout that is easy on the joints.
“The love and the support in the room is like no other,” she said. “Get ready to bounce all the stress away.”
All equipment is provided. Participants are asked to bring comfortable workout clothing, water, a towel and, if needed, a supportive sports bra.
Malcolm said community participation will be key to the program’s success.
“If we want to see more recreation opportunities in our area, we need to engage with them when they are offered,” she said. “The more interest we have, the bigger push it gives us to offer more activities in the future.”
