All welcome to Safer School Pathway grand opening

Date:

The Town of Teulon is proud to announce the grand opening of the Safer School Pathway on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 1:30 p.m.

All are welcome to attend the event, which will be held on the pathway on the south side of Teulon Elementary School. Through the contributions of Kirt Ansell and Glenn Kletke, this pathway enhances school safety, promotes a healthy lifestyle and can be enjoyed throughout the year.

The walking path provides access to the schools for the public, connecting the northeast and northwest sides of the community. The pathway in front of the elementary school prevents pedestrians from having to cross the highway without the protection of a crosswalk in these areas.

“We are thrilled to open the Safer School Pathway, which represents a significant step forward in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students,” said Mayor Todd Campbell.

“The children are the future of our community and the pathway provides a secure learning environment. I want to acknowledge the contributions of Kirt Ansell and Glenn Kletke — the project would not have taken place without their generous support and efforts on constructing the pathway.”

At the same time, Campbell expressed appreciation for others who were involved in bringing the project to fruition.

“We would also like to acknowledge the co-operation of the administration and staff of the Interlake School Division and Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, Randy Borsa, the staff of the Town of Teulon and the council of the Town of Teulon,” he said.

“The collaborative efforts of everyone involved have enabled the project to succeed.”
