Hay donation supports BlackBird horse rescue

Date:

Blackbird Ranch Equine Rescue and Rehab recently received a donation of hay bales from supporters, Mike Huck and his mother Bobbi Huck,  who said they wanted to support the organization’s efforts to provide safe homes for horses in need, including seniors and those with special needs.

”Not only did we donate the bales to support Blackbird Ranch Equine Rescue and Rehab, but we also hoped to inspire others to give to their cause. What they do is truly special, said Mike Huck.

During the visit, they met two horses — including one nearly blind and 30 years old — and highlighted the importance of providing safe homes for senior and special-needs animals rather than having them put down.

The donors also used the opportunity to promote the Equine Equipment Purchase Support Program, an initiative of Exmark, a supplier with ECHO Power Equipment Canada. The program offers discounts on farm equipment, mowers, paint and more for members of the horse community.
