Get ready to groove to the beats of local rap sensation Isaac James Desmarais as he hits the stage at the Canada Day celebrations in Stonewall.
Desmarais, a talented rap artist hailing from North Bay, Ontario, and now living in Stonewall, found his passion for music amidst the diverse experiences of growing up in a military family. Influenced by his drummer father and rooted in rock and metal music, Desmarais eventually discovered his innate talent for rap – a genre that resonated with him.
Desmarais played drums himself for a long time and though he always knew he wanted to do something with music, he was not sure what that would be.
“When I started with rap, I picked it up faster than anything I’ve ever done in my life,” said Desmerais.
Aside from his father’s influence, something that really inspires Desmerais is meeting new people and spending time with them.
“I’m a very people person,” he shared. “I think human interaction is very important. My girlfriend, family, and friends have all been super supportive and that motivates me to keep doing what I do.”
Having shared stages with iconic acts like Eminem’s old rap group D-12 and Violent J & Shaggy 2 Dope, Desmarais is now gearing up to captivate audiences at Stonewall’s Canada Day celebrations. Desmerais will be performing a set of original music and collaborating with his team at Jupiter Dawn and DJ Nugget for an unforgettable performance post-fireworks promises an electrifying night filled with original tracks and dynamic covers.
As he works on “Forgotten City,” an upcoming album set to debut later this year, Desmarais’s musical journey continues to evolve
