Natural movement exercise sessions offered in Stonewall

Date:

If you are looking for a unique way to get moving, consider a natural movement exercise session to get you up onto your feet.

In March, Stonewall resident Sara Siggelkow opened her own business Re:Be Mvmt.

Originally from Sweden, Siggelkow moved to Stonewall two years ago when she met her partner. She is a personal trainer and licensed natural movement instructor.

“Natural movement is a form of physical exercise where you move based on the way a human animal was based to more,” explained Siggelkow.

Through natural movement, you will move much like a child.

“There is crawling on the ground, climbing on trees, jumping, running, walking, balancing, throwing, lifting and carrying all involved with natural movement,” said Siggelkow.

Siggelkow is the first and only certified natural movement instructor in Manitoba. She received her certification through the MovNat program, a training certification program based in Victoria, B.C.

“I have always had a love for moving my body,” said Siggelkow. When she came across natural movement training, she instantly fell in love.

“I was looking for something more holistic that incorporates all of us as individuals. When I found natural movement, I thought it was brilliant!”

Through Siggelkow’s business, Re:Be Mvmt, she can incorporate natural movement into her client’sclients’ exercises, dance routines, and everyday lives.

Sigglelkow brings the exercise to you as she visits her clients in their homes.

“It doesn’t take a lot of equipment and it doesn’t involve a lot of space. We can easily set up an exercise in any space.”

Natural movement can be done indoors and outdoors, allowing you to conserve energy wisely.

“It helps you pay attention to what is going on in your body. The alignment, breathing and body positioning… It is a lifelong journey,” explained Siggelkow.

Sigglekow is currently coordinating with other nearby businesses to offer a retreat in 2025 that integrates natural movement. In her most recent adventure, she led a class on natural movement at the Take Root Festival in Thalberg.

“It was such a great experience and it lines up very very well with what I teach. It is about sharing your knowledge about living a more natural life. Being a part of the community of sharing your skill was an awesome experience to be a part of,” said Siggelkow.

If you want to add natural movement into your exercise routine, you can visit www.rebemvmt.com to contact Siggelkow, or you can send her a message on social media.

For those who are looking to add a group fitness class into your fall schedule, Siggelkow is excited to announce that she will be leading several groups at 310 Wellness’ new studio in Stonewall.

“I will be teaching classes varying from weight, strength & mobility, balance and natural movement,” Siggelkow added.

You can register for one of Re:Be Mvmt’s group classes and view the schedule on 310 Wellness’ website www.310wellness.ca.

Whether you prefer to exercise in a group or on your own with a personal trainer, be sure to check out what Re:Be Mvmt has to offer so you can add some natural movement into your everyday routine.
