Pumpkin Palooza powers Red Shed fundraiser Sept. 27

Date:

Mark your calendar for a brand new event that celebrates everything pumpkin-themed while raising funds for a good cause.

Pumpkin Palooza will take place on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Red Barn, located off Highway 236 at Road 75. Admission is free and all proceeds will go towards the new building fund for the Red Shed, which will serve as a secure exhibit space for three seasons of community activities.

The family-friendly event will feature a vendor market, pumpkin sales, a fall photo shoot spot, kids’ crafts and activities and a silent auction featuring plenty of great prizes for kids and adults alike. To tempt your tastebuds, the concession will feature homemade soup and pumpkin pie.

Unplain Jayne will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for face painting. If the weather permits, there will be a threshing demonstration at 1 p.m. Representatives from Costco will also be at the event, donating a gift of membership and offering a sign-up deal for new members.

Allison Pauls said the event will help cover the costs for electricity and lighting for the Red Shed.

“The Red Shed is up and we have a start on the electrical for the building. We’re already booked for events, and we’ve got the future we want with farmer markets all summer. That is our goal — to keep the grounds busy for the community.”

She encourages everyone to check out Pumpkin Palooza, which will be a great way to kickstart the autumn season.

“We would love everyone to come out to enjoy the lunch,” she said.
