The Stonewall Rams split their two games last week in Winnipeg High School Hockey League Winnipeg Free Press Division action and remain 10th in the standings with a 5–11 record.
Stonewall opened the week with an exciting 6–5 road win over Collège Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau on Monday, Jan. 12. After falling behind 3–0 through the first half of the game, the Rams mounted a strong third-period push. Alec Harrisko scored twice in the final frame, while Dustin Campbell also notched a pair of goals in the comeback victory. Matthew Hawryluk added a goal and an assist, including the eventual game-winner late in regulation.
The Rams returned home on Wednesday, Jan. 14, but dropped a 5–3 decision to Churchill Bulldogs. Matthew Hawryluk opened the scoring early in the second period, while Brody Slatcher and Harrisko added third-period goals to keep Stonewall within reach. Churchill sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final two minutes.
Stonewall is back on the road Tuesday, Jan. 20, travelling to face CSLR at 3:20 p.m., before returning home Friday, Jan. 23, to host Kelvin at 4 p.m.
