Mark your calendar for a fun-filled new fundraising event coming to Balmoral next month.
On Saturday, Nov. 22, Balmoral Community Hall will host a new event called Rockin’ the Hall, which will replace the Flight Night events held in previous years.
This much-anticipated event will feature a fully stocked cash bar (rather than craft beer), and it will also include a door prize, catered snack, 50/50 draw and silent auction.
Doug Carter, who serves on the Balmoral Community Hall board with his wife Lisa, highlighted some of the evening’s entertainment.
“The BOOM, a very fun and entertaining band, will perform covers of classic rock songs providing plenty of opportunities to test your dance moves. The band is fronted by local musician Dave Trach of Teulon. They performed two shows earlier this year at the Silver Spike in Transcona as well as at South Beach Casino,” he said.
“Tickets are $25 per person and include a chance at a door prize, great music and a catered snack of your choice courtesy of local catering powerhouse Prairie Fusion Catering. The event will also feature a 50/50 draw and a silent auction boasting an impressive variety of prizes.”
The outing aims to raise funds towards several projects at the community hall.
“The main floor of the hall is in need of refinishing, and the sign on the front of the building has not yet been replaced since re-siding occurred several years ago,” Carter said.
“We are optimistic that both can be accomplished in 2026 with the help of fundraising events such as this.”
At the same time, Carter extended gratitude to the individuals and businesses that make it all possible.
“We would like to thank patrons and local businesses who continue to support the hall and our fundraising efforts,” he said.
“A specific thank you for silent auction donations will be published directly following the Nov. 22 fundraiser.”
Rockin’ the Hall is set for Saturday, Nov. 22 from 7:30 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are available by contacting any board members including Lisa Carter at 204-461-4046 or Doug Carter at 204-461-0489 (call or text).
Looking ahead, other upcoming events at the Balmoral Community Hall include the second annual family-friendly free kids’ Halloween party on Oct. 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information, contact Craig Lamm at 204-467-5079.
The community hall will also host a fundraising bingo on Monday, Nov. 3. All ages are welcome with doors opening at 6 p.m. and games starting at 7 p.m.
