Nine accomplished young woman are vying for the Manitoba Sunflower Festival Queen Quest title in Altona this weekend.
The contestants take the stage for contestant speeches Friday afternoon at the Millennium Exhibition Centre followed by introductions on the stage that evening.
The annual fashion show takes place Saturday afternoon and then the 2025 queen and her princesses will be crowned at 10 p.m. that night.

• Aidyn Isaak is the daughter of Pamela and Mike Isaak and is sponsored by Pembina Valley Pharmacy.
“I graduated from W.C. Miller this past June, and in September I will be attending the University of Calgary to get my bachelor of arts in Sociology. In my spare time I love spending time with my friends, listening to music, building new bonds with people, traveling and creating new memories.”
• Alexia Loewen is the daughter of Jacob and Norma Loewen and is being sponsored by H. Fehr Farms.
“This past June I graduated from W.C. Miller. My future plans are to attend Steinreich Bible School in Chihuahua, Mexico. I also plan on doing a lot of travelling. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, working out, going for drives and listening to music, and I love trying new food.”
• Aurellia Peters is the daughter of Jason and Karen Peters and is sponsored by Rhineland Car Co. Ltd.
“I graduated from W.C. Miller this past June, this fall I plan on studying at the University of Manitoba for education. In my free time I enjoy playing softball, working out, fishing, cooking, reading and spending time with my friends and family.”
• Claribelle Thiessen is the daughter of Eric and Vilma Thiessen. She is being sponsored by Elmer’s Manufacturing.
“I graduated from W.C. Miller in 2023 and this past year I attended Providence University College, where I studied Psychology and English. In my free time I enjoy biking the roads in Altona and walking my French bulldog, spending time with friends and family and collecting shoes, whether it be Nike, Adidas, or cowboy boots, I have them all!”
• Dalyce Friesen is the daughter of Mike and Vickie Friesen and is sponsored by Sun Valley Co-op.
“I have recently graduated from W.C. Miller, and this following year I plan on working and travelling. In my spare time I enjoy playing the piano, singing, sketching, cooking, eating ice cream and spending time with my friends and family.”
• Isabelle Dyck is the daughter of Abe and Boni Dyck. She is being sponsored by Buffalo Creek Mills.
“I recently graduated from W.C. Miller this past June. In the future I plan to become a nail technician and I would love to work and travel as well! In my spare time I enjoy spending time in nature, going out with friends, and practicing my nail technician skills.”
• Lacey Toews is the daughter of Curt and Rachel Toews and is being sponsored by Friesens Corporation.
“I graduated from W.C. Miller in 2023 and I am now working at École West Park School as an educational assistant. In my spare time I enjoy camping, swimming, biking, going to concerts and watching local baseball. I also love to thrift and hang out with friends, especially at the same time.”
• Mya Buhr is the daughter of Lorne and Carie Buhr. She is being sponsored by Green Valley Equipment, where she worked as a part-time receptionist.
“I graduated from W.C. Miller this past June. My plans for the future are to attend the University of Manitoba to further my education in English arts, then pursue my dream of getting my law degree and become a lawyer. In my free time I enjoy singing, dancing, reading novels, watching movies and spending time with my family.”
• Sarea Bohn-Hildebrand is the daughter of Jaymie Bohn and Russ and Nicole Hildebrand. She is being sponsored by CFAM Radio 950, Country 88, The Eagle 93.5 and Pembina Valley Online.
