Boyne River Keepers present Beautiful Riverbank award

Date:

The Boyne River Keepers have presented this year’s “Beautiful Riverbank” award to Martha and Bob Pauls, recognizing their efforts to enhance and care for the shoreline along the Boyne River.

The annual award highlights properties that demonstrate riverbank beautification, stabilization and originality. The committee said the program is meant to encourage practical stewardship that protects the bank, supports habitat and improves the river’s appearance for residents and visitors alike.

“Each year, we want to honour people who go above and beyond in making the river a place of beauty for everyone,” said committee member Tracy Enns. “The Pauls’ property is a wonderful example of that spirit.”

The Boyne River Keepers noted that by showcasing local efforts such as the Pauls’, they hope to encourage more residents to take part in riverbank care and ensure the long-term health of the waterway.

Enns said since starting their fifth annual World Rivers Day celebration they have seen more people maintaining their riverbanks. “It’s wonderful,” she added.
