Carman goes 4–1 to claim bronze at U17 A provincials

Date:

The Carman Cardinals wrapped up an outstanding weekend with a bronze-medal finish at the 2025 U17 A Female Softball Manitoba Provincial Championships, held July 11–13 in Steinbach.

The first day of the tournament (Friday) saw games postponed and eventually cancelled due to low air quality. Games resumed Saturday, with two days’ worth of round-robin play squeezed into a single day.

Carman went undefeated in round-robin play in Pool D, posting wins over Warren (15–2), Virden (6–3), and BV Flash White (10–5) to top their group.

In Sunday’s quarter-final, the Cardinals edged Blumenort 7–6 before falling 13–3 to eventual champions ATB Services in the semifinal.

Carman bounced back to defeat Northwest Navy 7–5 in the bronze-medal game.

The tournament featured 17 teams competing at A.D. Penner Park, with single-elimination playoffs closing out the championship on Sunday.
