Date:

In the Winnipeg High School Hockey League’s Price Division post-season, the Lundar Kodiaks opened their first-round series with a comeback victory before ultimately falling in three games to Murdoch MacKay.

Lundar earned a 3–2 win in Game 1 on Feb. 17 despite surrendering two early first-period goals. Murdoch MacKay struck twice in the opening minutes, including a power-play marker, to seize early momentum.

The Kodiaks responded in the second period when Daniel Johnson converted on the power play from Riley Johnson. Lundar continued its special-teams success in the third, as Riley Johnson scored with the man advantage from Daniel Johnson to tie the game. Thor Johnson completed the comeback later in the frame, finishing a play set up by Kolten Bell-Sinclair to secure the victory.

Murdoch MacKay answered in Game 2 on Feb. 20 with a 4–1 win to even the series. Madden Bauman scored twice, while the Clippers added a pair of shorthanded goals in the second period to pull away. Noah Kuzyk netted Lundar’s lone goal on the power play in the third, assisted by Daniel Johnson.

The deciding Game 3 on Feb. 21 saw Murdoch MacKay advance with a 9–1 victory. Thor Johnson scored Lundar’s lone goal, converting on the power play from Kuzyk and Riley Johnson late in the second period.

With the loss, Lundar’s playoff run came to an end following a hard-fought three-game series in the Price Division.
