Two Winnipeg residents are in custody following a traffic stop in Little Saskatchewan First Nation that led to the seizure of a stolen handgun and a significant quantity of cocaine.
Gypsumville RCMP said officers conducted a traffic stop on Feb. 21, 2026, at approximately 1:45 p.m., after observing a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Tower Road and Sandy Bay Road.
Police said the male driver appeared to be impaired. A database check confirmed he was breaching court-ordered conditions, and he was arrested at the scene. The female passenger was later arrested after officers located drugs inside the vehicle.
Upon arresting the occupants, officers seized a loaded handgun, prescription drugs and approximately 16 ounces of cocaine. Police later confirmed the handgun had been reported stolen in Grande Prairie, Alta., in 2022.
Shane Warren, 45, and Terri Cruly, 28, both of Winnipeg, have been arrested and remanded in custody on multiple firearms- and drug-related charges.
Warren also faces additional charges of driving while prohibited, impaired driving and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Gypsumville RCMP continue to investigate.
