The Selkirk Fishermen pushed the Lundar Falcons to the limit on Sunday afternoon but fell 4–3 in overtime in Capital Region Junior Hockey League action at the Selkirk Recreation Complex. Despite the loss, Selkirk remains second in the CRJHL standings with a 10-4-0-1 record for 31 points.

Daniel Masters scored twice for the Falcons, including the winner at 2:37 of overtime, capping a tight matchup in which neither team led by more than a goal. Selkirk outshot Lundar 39–32 but couldn’t convert on any of their chances, finishing 0-for-0 on the power play in a penalty-heavy first half of the night.

Lundar opened the scoring at 14:30 of the first period on a goal from Braeden Lukas before Selkirk answered minutes later. Dawson Bergagnini tied the game 1–1 at 2:17, finishing a feed from Zach Gallinger and Sam Khodayary.

Theo Courchene put Selkirk ahead 2–1 midway through the second, but the Falcons responded quickly, as Jayden Dyck evened the score just 43 seconds later.

Lundar regained the lead at 15:21 of the third when Masters scored his first of the afternoon. Selkirk pressed back, and Bergagnini delivered again, tying the game at 14:27 with his second of the day and eighth of the season.

Masters ended it in overtime, converting a pass from Liam Russell.

Johnny Enns-Demchuk stopped 28 shots for the Fishermen in the overtime loss, while Falcons goaltender Seth Hasker turned aside 36 to earn the win.

Selkirk will look to rebound Friday, Dec. 12, when they travel to Beausejour to take on the first-place Comets at the Beausejour Sportsplex.
