The Raiders Junior Hockey Club was one of several Manitoba Junior Hockey League teams that gave back to their respective communities in December.
The Raiders, whose roster includes several local players, supported the Children’s Hospital Toy Drive when they hosted the River East Royal Knights last month.
This organization has done a tremendous job giving back to the community in various projects over the years. A lot of people are involved to make these fantastic volunteer efforts succeed.
“It’s awesome and our players embrace it. We’ve always had a strong leadership group,” said the Raiders’ president/general manager Ned Sanders. “It’s part of the culture and we represent north Winnipeg. There’s a need and we have pretty traditional (things) that we do and it’s pretty awesome.”
The MMJHL teams have really stepped up in recent years, especially in 2023, and have given back to their communities.
