Interlake School Division is launching its new continuous improvement plan, which offers a fresh look and renewed focus.
The plan draws on provincial government direction from Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning’s Framework for Learning and the Indigenous Education policy framework called “Mamàhtawisiwin: The Wonder We Are Born With.”
“These documents, coupled with the voice of ISD stakeholders, help to identify a clear path forward while building upon the strength of the foundation established during our last continuous improvement plan,” said Margaret Ward, superintendent and CEO.
The end of the school year brings the excitement and celebration of successes over the year, while also bringing the anticipation and opportunity of the new school year, she added.
“In the coming months, we will celebrate the graduating class of 2024, students will prepare to transition from one grade to another, and our newest learners will look forward to their very first day of kindergarten in September,” Ward said.
“Over the next few months, schools will be involved in school planning efforts for the 2024-25 school year, school and divisional leaders will be actively engaged in staffing, and schools will prepare to report to their communities at the end of June regarding their goals and their continued pursuit of improvement.”
Ward explained that the Interlake School Division’s continuous improvement plan is a commitment to ensuring every student participates in high-quality learning opportunities that are accessible, equitable, and responsive.
“As always, all ISD staff are dedicated to continually monitoring the needs of our students, staff, parents and communities as we grow, learn and improve together. With the continued commitment to reviewing our data and reporting to our stakeholders each and every year, we will surely see our continuous improvement plan transform over time, as was the case with our previous plan,” she said.
“We welcome and certainly look forward to all input along the way as every voice is vital to our collective improvement.”
