Teulon’s Green Acres Park benefit from TD Tree Days

Date:

Volunteers braved the rain in Teulon last Saturday to plant 275 white spruce trees at Green Acres Park, part of a project aimed at strengthening the community’s green spaces.

The planting was led by Ken Fosty, a certified arborist with more than 45 years of experience and a record of planting three million trees across Manitoba.

The effort was part of TD Tree Days, a program dedicated to enriching community environments. Although Teulon’s TD branch has since closed, town council requested the project continue locally.

“The trees are being planted in Teulon to add more diversity, more wildlife habitat, more shelter in the wintertime, more beauty and recreational benefits. And trees create clean air, which is always a win-win,” Fosty said.

The event marked not just another day in the park but a step toward fostering greener spaces for the community. More trees are scheduled to be planted next year as the project continues.
