Trivia Night planned in support of Manitoba Cats

Date:

A Manitoba non-profit organization is hosting a fundraiser to support friendly felines, with a team of volunteers hosting an upcoming trivia night in Argyle.

“We wanted to provide a fun night out for people that also can raise money and awareness in a unique way. We’ve got people coming from all around the Interlake, Winnipeg and even beyond,” said Christopher Guenther, the executive director of Manitoba Cats.

Manitoba Cats supports cat rescue organizations throughout the province. It will host the trivia event March 9 at Willow Grove Orchard, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and the games officially kicking-off at 6:30 p.m.

Teams of up to six people will compete in rounds of general trivia. Additional food, drinks and a cash bar will be available during the event.

Popcorn prizes for trivia round winners and other prizes will also be drawn throughout the night.

Tickets cost $10 per person and are available at tobatickets.ca. The event will have limited space, and tickets must be purchased in advance.

“There are an estimated 700 cats in the care of rescues throughout Manitoba, and that’s a low estimate. The rescues spend on average $425 per cat while they wait to be adopted. This doesn’t include any emergency vetting, which can cost thousands of dollars for a single cat,” Guenther said.

“We are dedicated to ensuring every cat has a chance at a happy and healthy life — and unfortunately, that comes at a cost.”
