Varsity boys Wildcats bow out in provincial quarters

The Warren Wildcats varsity boys volleyball team’s season came to an end last Saturday at provincials from Major Pratt School.

The Wildcats reached the quarterfinal round of the Provincial AA Boys Volleyball Championship after placing third in Pool 2 during the round robin.

In the quarters, Warren fell in three sets (14-25, 27-25, 11-15) to the Elton Sabres as their season officially came to a close. 

The Carberry Cougars eventually went on to win provincials with a three-sets win (18-25, 25-15, 16-14) over the Goose Lake Raiders on Saturday night.

Warren’s provincial run lasted five total games. They began the tournament with a loss to the Immanuel Christian Falcons (22-25, 25-27) before bouncing back against the Morris/St. Jean (Co-Op) Mavericks (25-22, 25-19).

Warren then split the remainder of their round robin games with a loss to Goose Lake (18-25, 27-25, 9-15) and a win over the Margaret Barbour Spartans (25-20, 25-23), before falling to Elton in the quarters.
