Volunteers needed for Teulon tree-planting day Sept. 20

Date:

REACT is calling for at least 10 more volunteers to help plant 225 trees at Teulon/Rockwood’s Green Acres Park on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.

The trees are being provided by TD, and organizers say a strong turnout will help get all one-gallon potted trees in the ground within about two hours.

Participants are asked to wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear and long pants, and to come prepared for the weather with comfortable clothing, sunscreen and a hat.

The community planting will take place in Teulon for the first two years before moving to Stonewall in future years.

To sign up or ask questions, contact Ken Fosty at 1-204-963-2209. Replies to the organizing email: info@reactinc.org are also welcome.
