Each December, the school’s Parent Advisory Council hosts its popular VIP raffle, offering prime parking and reserved seating for the annual Christmas concert. This time, winners will be going home with more than just a good view — they’ll also take home a hand-designed wooden chair, created by students.
Principal Jesse Thomaschewski said the idea was a fun way to elevate the experience.
“We have had the tradition of a VIP raffle for seats and parking at our Christmas concert. PAC always puts it on,” he shared. “We upped things this year by taking wooden chairs for the VIP seats that winners will be able to take home.”
To prepare, four classrooms were invited to participate — Grade 1, a Grade 3/4 split class, and two Grade 5/6 groups. Students worked together to decorate the chairs, each adding its own artistic touch.
Only four VIP packages were available, making the raffle a sought-after holiday highlight for families.
“It came together nicely,” Thomaschewski said.
