Lundar Kodiaks drop pair on road in WHSHL Price Division play

Date:

The Lundar Kodiaks endured a difficult road swing last week in Winnipeg High School Hockey League Price Division action, dropping both games to remain 11th in the standings with a 2–14 record.

Lundar opened the week with a 9–0 loss to the Lorette Scorpions on Jan. 20, struggling to generate offence against a strong Scorpions attack.

The Kodiaks were back on the road the following night and fell 10–4 to Murdoch MacKay on Jan. 21, despite flashes of offensive production.

Murdoch MacKay jumped out to a four-goal lead in the opening period, but Lundar responded late in the frame with two goals from Kolten Bell-Sinclair to keep the game within reach. Bell-Sinclair completed his hat trick in the second period, while Noah Kuzyk also found the back of the net as the Kodiaks continued to battle.

Murdoch MacKay pulled away in the third period with six goals, led by Lucas Merner and Brody Crellin, to seal the victory.

Lundar will look to regroup when they return home Friday, Jan. 30 to host the Kildonan East Reivers in their next Price Division matchup.
