Date:

The Lundar Falcons dropped their fifth straight game Saturday, falling 5-1 to the Arborg Ice Dawgs at Lundar Arena.

The loss was the Falcons’ lone outing of the week and left them at 4-14-0-3-2 on the season, tied with Arborg for fifth place in the Capital Region Junior Hockey League.

Despite outshooting the Ice Dawgs 43-42, Lundar didn’t get on the board until midway through the third period, when Taylor Paupanekis scored his third goal of the season to make it 4-1. Arborg responded moments later with its fifth goal.

The Ice Dawgs built their lead with two goals in each of the opening periods and finished 1-for-3 on the power play. Lundar went 0-for-5 with the man advantage.

Falcons goaltender Dylan Leclair turned aside 37 shots in the loss, while Arborg’s Paxton Moore stopped 42 to earn the win as the Ice Dawgs extended their streak to three straight victories.
