Last Thursday’s home match marked the penultimate game on the Royals regular season calendar as they close out this Tuesday against Springfield.
On Thursday, Selkirk narrowly downed the fourth place Transcona Titans, 40-37, for their second triumph over their Transcona rivals this season.
The win moves the Royals’ record up to 5-2, with their points differential improving to plus-119.
The only team ahead of them in KPAC Tier 2 is the West Kildonan Wolverines who concluded their undefeated regular season last week.
The Royals now turn their attention to Tuesday’s matchup with the Springfield Sabres that could determine whether Springfield finishes third or fourth in the standings.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. from Springfield Collegiate Institute in Oakbank.
