Rosser council news in brief

Date:

Rosser council gave second and third reading to amend the 2015 bylaw for expenditure and borrowing of money in regards to the 2015 completed repairs of the wastewater lines in Grosse Isle.

In other council news:

• Council appointed Susan Manchelanko and removed Coun. Kelvin Stewart as the alternate for the South Interlake 55 Plus.

• Lilyfield Quarry Inc. submitted a quarry permit application to expand its existing quarry in Rosser. The quarry operations bylaw requires that notice of the community consultation meeting must be sent by registered mail to all landowners within two miles of the property’s boundary. Due to the Canada Post postal strike, registered mail wasn’t delivered so council allowed the company to deliver notice by posting it at the resident’s house or property and provide a photo of the notice in an affadavit, use any email addresses to send the notice with read receipts and publish the notice in the newspaper twice rather than once.

• The RM of Rosser finalized four-year funding agreements with Grosse Isle Recreation Centre, Rosser Community Club, Meadows Community Club, Marquette Curling Club and the Grosse Isle Heritage Site. The Rosser Central Community Club and the Marquette Curling Club returned their signed agreements, so council passed a resolution to execute the agreements with those two groups.
