Carman and Community Chamber of Commerce reflects on past twelve months

Date:

As 2024 draws to a close, the Carman and Community Chamber of Commerce reflects on a year filled with significant successes, challenges, and a forward-looking vision for the future. The local Chamber’s efforts have continued to support and strengthen our local business community, reinforcing its vital role in making Carman an exceptional place to live and work.

Notable accomplishments have been marked this past year. Advocacy work took centre stage, with impactful tours involving our Member of Parliament and visits from our Member of the Legislative Assembly, helping to spotlight the needs and potential of our region.

Community collaboration also shone brightly, as partnerships on the Clearwater Memorial Playground Project and World River Day brought residents and organizations together meaningfully.

The Chamber Buck program proved to be another standout success. With over $30,000 in sales, this initiative kept those dollars circulating locally, directly boosting the local business community and encouraging residents to invest in the heart of their hometown.

Despite the successes, challenges remain. The Chamber continues to focus on engaging members and the broader community.

“Building a sense of shared ownership and fostering active participation will be critical as we move forward,” said Jodi Winkler, the Carman and Community Chamber of Commerce executive director. “The Chamber is committed to exploring new ways to connect with members and residents alike, ensuring everyone feels included and invested in our shared goals.”

Economic development is at the forefront of the Chamber’s plans for 2025. As the community grows, so does the need for strategic initiatives that attract investment, support businesses, and create opportunities for residents. Strengthening partnerships will be the key component of this effort for the Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber’s resolution for 2025 is to continue building and strengthening its relationship with the Town and Rural Municipality. By working collaboratively, they aim to create an environment where businesses can thrive and contribute to a vibrant, sustainable community.

As we enter a new year, the Chamber’s message to residents is clear: remember to support local businesses whenever possible.

“Our business community is the backbone of our town, providing essential services, creating jobs, and enriching the quality of life we all enjoy,” said Winkler. “Without them, our community would not be the ideal place we call home. Together, let’s look forward to a prosperous and collaborative 2025. The Chamber of Commerce thanks everyone for their continued support and involvement, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead. Here’s to another year of growth and success for our community.”
