Home Hardware Fundraiser helps to fundraise for cancer research
Home Hardware Building Centre in Selkirk has brought back its annual Fighting Cancer of All Colours fundraising campaign and residents are invited to stop by on May 10 to contribute.
This is the fifth year that Home Hardware has supported the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation and brought this fundraiser to our community.
“Fundraising for Cancers of All Colours is vital because cancer doesn’t discriminate. It touches people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. Here at Selkirk Home Hardware, we believe in building more than homes and projects, we are also about building community. Fundraising for Cancers of All Colours means standing with every family member, friend or neighbour affected, no matter the type of cancer,” said Wendy Meger, General Manager, of Selkirk Home Hardware Building Centre.
People can contribute up until May 10 by making an in-store donation where they write their names on a butterfly to fill the store’s cancer ribbon- with every donation residents will also get the chance to enter the butterfly bench raffle (one entry per donation of over $2). You can also show support by purchasing a tank top, T-shirt, or lanyard with all proceeds supporting the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
If residents can’t get out to Home Hardware in the next few days, they can also make online donations at the fundraising page, support.cancercarefdn.mb.ca.
If you can head out to Selkirk Home Hardware Building Centre around lunch time on May 10 residents will be able to check out the on-site event. The Danny’s Whole Hog Food Truck will be there and $1 from every meal sold will be donated to the cause.
This fundraiser supports a great cause as all funds raised and donated to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation remain in Manitoba and support the work of CancerCare Manitoba.
Meger invites residents to head down to Home Hardware and show their support for a great cause.
“Every dollar donated online or in-person at the store helps fight cancer in all its forms. Hopefully, you can join us here for our fundraiser on Saturday, May 10 for a day of community, caring, and giving because when we stand together, we build strength that lasts. Together, we can show that our community stands strong,” she said.
