Selkirk Fire Department celebrates annual Firefighter Awards Banquet

On May 3, the firefighters of the Selkirk Fire Department celebrated with their annual Firefighter Awards Banquet. 

Retired Fire Chief Dan Thorsteinson handed out Selkirk Fire Dept. 20 years Service Awards to Fire Chief Corey Gagne and Deputy Chief Joe Bukoski and then Gagne had the honour of recognizing Retired Fire Chief Dave Milner, Captain Sean Lewis, and Lieutenant Rick Wur with Selkirk Fire Dept. 25 years Service Awards.

Firefighter Brent Scherza and Firefighter Ian Fey also earned their 25 years Service Awards but were not present at the event. The Governor General Exemplary Service Medal was also awarded to Milner.

Finally, there was plenty to celebrate when Safety Training Officer Craig Fiebelkorn received the Governor General Exemplary Service Bar. Firefighter Kelly Helgason though not there on the day also received the Governor General Exemplary Service Bar.
