Interlake musicians continue to make waves in Manitoba’s country music scene.
Multiple local musicians are nominees for the 2025 Manitoba Country Music Awards.

In the Cover/Tribute Artist, Duo or Group of the Year, local band Lost in a Small Town is in the running. The band features Trey King of Warren on lead vocals, Colton King of Warren on rhythm guitar and vocals, Garret Kristjanson of Warren on rhythm guitar and vocals, Craig Keena of Marquette on bass and vocals, Garrett Rattai of Lockport on drums and Cameron Ducharme of St. Laurent on lead guitar, fiddle and vocals.
They’re up against Club Wagon Creek, Hearts on Fire, Prairieline, The InClines and Waylon Willie & Cash.
On behalf of the band, King said they’re beyond grateful to be nominated for Cover/Tribute Artist, Duo or Group of the Year at this year’s Manitoba Country Music Awards.
“This is the third year in a row we’ve been nominated in this category, and it means so much to us to be recognized for doing what we love. We’ve got two to three original songs set to be released in the new year, and we’re really excited about the opportunity to grow as artists — and hopefully earn nominations in other award categories in the future,” King said.
“We want to thank our amazing fans, our families and all the guys who have subbed in to play with us when the main guys couldn’t make it — they’re a big part of this nomination too. And, finally, congratulations to all the incredible bands and artists who were nominated. Manitoba truly is an amazing place for country musicians.”
For anyone who would like to catch Lost in a Small Town, their next show is on Oct. 25 from 8:15 to 11 p.m. at Belle’s Kitchen + Music Hall, located at 1212 Nairn Ave. in Winnipeg.
Also in the spotlight is Lachlan McLean, a nominee in the All Star Band of the Year Guitar category. He’s up against Clinton Giesbrecht, Levi Winters, Rylan Knaggs, Sean Borton and Troy Flamand.
“I’m incredibly grateful that I’ve had the good fortune to be able to continue doing what I love alongside some really wonderful and talented people,” McLean said.
“Considering that there are so many other Manitoban guitarists I look up to, it’s a special feeling to be reminded that others appreciate me as well, and so I’m especially thankful.”
Morgan Grace of East Selkirk is nominated in the category of All Star Band of the Year Specialty (Banjo, Fiddle, Mandolin, Keys, Steel). She’s up against Brad Moggie, Blaine Badiuk, James Klassen, Michael Audette and Real Comeault.
Event of the Year nominees include the Morden Corn and Apple Festival, Hanover Ag Fair, Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition, Manitoba Threshermen’s Reunion and Stampede, Niverville Fair and Summer in the City.
Award winners will be announced on Nov. 8 at Club Regent Casino and Event Centre in Winnipeg at the 10th anniversary event.
