The recent Tea and Tour event in Roland was a huge success.
On Sept. 30, people filled the Roland United Church to see Donna Cameron’s miniature houses on display. There, they also took part in a high tea service and toured each of the miniature buildings, including a one room schoolhouse, a sewing shop and the National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation living room.
The event was to raise money for Carman Palliative Care and the church. Cameron described it as an “absolutely fabulous” day with perfect weather.
“So many people commented what a lovely time they had,” she said. “It was something pleasant to do to sit and share a cup of tea and visit.”
Cameron said everyone enjoyed her displays, laughing the intricate details like the chamber pots under the beds.
Musical duo LuLu and the TomCat came to the event to provide background music, and at the end of it all, Cameron had raised $2,100 for Carman Palliative Care and the Roland United Church.
