Families enjoyed a morning of pancakes and holiday cheer during Homestead Co-op’s Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 6 at the Carman Community Hall. The event supported the Carman and Area District Cheer Board, featured visits with Santa and Cooper the Bear, and included games, crafts and giveaways from community partners

In total, they raised close to $1,350, with nearly 290 guests stopping by for a delicious pancake breakfast.

“We loved welcoming families, serving a warm meal, and kicking off the holiday season together,” said Shannon Vaughan, Marketing and Communications Manager with Homestead Co-op. “Our favourite moment was watching our community gather and seeing the excitement and sparkle in the children’s eyes when they saw Santa.” Other highlights included visits from Cooper the Bear and Sparky the Dog, and games, crafts and info tables hosted by community organizations.  Several volunteers helped make the morning possible, including 18 representatives from Homestead Co-op, some the crew of Carman Collegiate students who helped with set up and take down, and a few individuals from the Carman and Community Chamber of Commerce who collected donations for the cheer board. “Thank you for making Breakfast with Santa such a heartwarming tradition,” Vaughan added.
