Three Roseau River residents are facing charges after a police operation last week.
On Feb. 16, members of the Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) Roseau River detachment, with the assistance from the MFNPS Crime Reduction Enforcement Unit (CREU) and the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a search warrant on a residence on the Roseau River Anishinaabe First Nation based on information received indicating that there were unauthorized firearms being stored there.
During the initial execution of the search warrant, four individuals were arrested without incident. At that time, officers did not locate unauthorized firearms, but they did observe drug paraphernalia in plain view. The scene was held while the MFNPS applied for and received a controlled drugs and substances search warrant.
Approximately 32 grams of suspected methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $3,000 along with scales, mobile devices, and packaging materials were seized.
Two men and one woman were arrested and now face drug trafficking charges.
