Lockport River’s Edge Run hit the ground running

Date:

The Lockport River’s Edge Run in support of the Huntington’s Society of Canada and hosted by the Manitoba Chapter was a great day of fun last weekend. Runner’s got out on a crisp Saturday morning for a beautiful 30K, half marathon, 10K, or 5K adventure followed by a deluxe pancake breakfast. Over 350 people participated and the fundraiser brought in over $35,000 which was doubled by an anonymous donour to total over $70,000 raised for Huntington’s research. Event sponsors included title event sponsor, 4LCommunications; Manitoba event sponsor, Running Room; location sponsor, Skinner’s Restaurant; food and beverage sponsors, Harry’s Fine Foods, who provided the food, and the St. Andrews Fire Department, who expertly prepared it; as well as the 5K Huntington National Walk sponsor, K5insurance. A big thank you goes out to all of the people who signed up to participate and fundraised as well as all of the sponsors who made this event possible and all of the amazing volunteers who made the day happen.
