Winnipeg Beach Residents Association hosting election forum July 4

With the municipal election scheduled for July in Winnipeg Beach, the Winnipeg Beach Residents Association is hosting an election forum a few weeks before property owners go to the polls.

The residents association will be inviting all candidates to take part, according to a notice on Facebook. It will take place on Saturday, July 4 at 2 p.m. at the Winnipeg Beach Legion.

There are three candidates running for the office of mayor: Terry Calof, Stan Potten and Sig Trautwein. 

There are nine candidates running for the office of councillor: Andrea McCann, Christine Sokaluk, Anjali Schludermann, Kim Trobinski, Doug Jarvis, Barry Hoel, Darcy Gilkes, Linda Campbell and Ravi Shukla.

The general municipal election will be held in Winnipeg Beach on Friday, July 24 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Winnipeg Beach Recreation Centre at 32 Hamilton Ave. 

Advance polls will be held on Friday, July 10 and Saturday July 11 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Winnipeg Beach Recreation Centre. An advance poll in Winnipeg will be held on Tuesday, July 14 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Dakota Community Centre at 1188 Dakota St.

People wishing to vote by sealed envelope must make arrangements with the senior election officer in person or by mail or email by July 21.

Dunnottar and Victoria Beach will also go to the polls on July 24. For other communities, the 2026 municipal elections will be held on Oct. 28.
