New location for Fehr’s Cabinet Showroom & Warehouse

Date:

“We’ve Moved!” is the signage in the window of the old location of Fehr’s Cabinet Showroom & Warehouse on the corner of Boyne Ave. and Main St. of Morris. The new location is just up the street on the corner of Main St. N and Mulvey Ave. E.

“This is the perfect location,” says part owner Melissa Lamotte. “The new building gives us the room we needed to create a new showroom to display cabinets and options.”

The vaulted ceiling building has some history behind it. After a flood the previous year, the All Saints’ Anglican Church was moved to the location in 1898. In 1920, it became the Lutheran Church of the Cross.

The Lutheran Church replaced the building in 1968. In 2016, they sold the building, which eventually became Cottage Depot.

“The Bell Tower in place at Smith Park was originally in front of this building,” says Brock Lamotte, a custom wood builder and the other half of the Fehr’s Cabinet ownership team.

The Lamottes purchased the business in 2020 from Henry Fehr, who started it in 1987.

“Brock designed and built custom cabinets for 20+ years,” says Melissa. “The retail business was a natural transition from what he did.”

Their new building offers 4,300 sq. ft. of floor space.

“When we purchased the business, we knew that the old building had a lease,” Melissa explains. “We wanted our own space. We took the possession of this place on Jan. 19 and started moving on Jan. 30.”

“We are not just cabinets,” notes Brock. “We will go to you with samples so you can view them in your space.”

Custom cabinets, kitchens, counter-tops, bathrooms, mudroom or closets are what this business is all about.

“We design and install cabinets and countertops,” says Melissa. “We are the only company that will draw your design at no charge.”

The showroom is now under renovation. The plan is for a grand opening in late spring to be ready to show the lineup of cabinet that are available.

“We are still operational,” Melissa stresses. “People can stop by. There is not much to view now, but you can come in and talk to us. It’s just a little dusty at the moment.”

You can learn more about Fehr’s Cabinet Showroom & Warehouse online at fehrcabinets.com.

“The website needs to be updated,” Melissa notes. “Once we have our new showroom finished, we will refresh the website with the details.”
