Free garden seeds available at Boyne Regional Library

Date:

Attention all Carman Community Gardeners! Take note that the Boyne Grows Seed Library, housed within the Boyne Regional Library in Carman, currently has an abundance of complimentary seeds waiting to be claimed. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

If you’re not familiar with what a seed library is, you can find all of the information on the Boyne Regional Library website.

A library membership is not required to join in. Instead, a “Seed Library Membership” form must be completed and the seeds you take home should be noted. While it’s recommended to save seeds in autumn (or learn how), there is no obligation to do so.

There is a wide variety of food seeds, such as carrot, beet, bean, pea, corn, melons, squash and others.

In addition to a variety of flowers such as marigolds, zinnias, and native options like milkweed and Joe Pye, there are also mixes of edible flowers like nasturtium. As for herbs, there are plenty to choose from including parsley, dill, cilantro, and even edible calendula.

In addition, the Library hosts a variety of events centered on gardening and the outdoors. There are also new additions scheduled to take place in the upcoming weeks and months.
