Soup Splash Pool Party at the Morris Pool this Sunday

Date:

For a third year, the Bigway Soup Splash Pool Party’is sailing into the Morris Pool.

A collaboration between the Red River Food Bank and Morris Bigway, the pool party runs Sunday, Aug. 4 from noon to 4 p.m..

“Things are always better when people team up,” said Pat Schmitke, co-organizer and owner of Bigway. “[Events like this] are about giving back and having fun.”

Last year’s attendance saw over 100 attendees, including many children. Schmitke hopes that this year’s event will be the best yet.

“Make sure your children come, because we’ve rented a ginormous pirate ship bouncy castle.”

Food will be provided beginning at 12:30 p.m. on the north lawn of the pool from a newly purchased hot dog stand. Music, fun in the pool, and freezies are also included with entry.

Admission to the event is one can of regular soup for individual entry, a can of chunky soup for family entry, or monetary donations.

All contributions go toward the Red River Food Bank, which supports people in need in Morris and the surrounding area.
