Tudor House Personal Care Home hosts Fall Tea

Date:

Proceeds to go to the construction of Alzheimer Memory Garden

Tudor House Personal Care Home will be hosting a Fall tea event with proceeds going towards the construction of an Alzheimer Memory Garden for residents of Tudor House and Woodland Court to enjoy.

Denise Smith, the certified recreation facilitator at Tudor House Personal Care Home, said that this event will be a smaller version of their annual event as this is their first time hosting the event since the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’ll start at one o’clock, and we’re going to have a silver collection at the door. There’ll be some auction prizes, a bake sale, 50-50, draw and door prizes. We’re also going to have a tin for the bin with the bins at the front door so that when [attendees] come in, they can bring whatever they want for the food bank,” said Smith.

As Smith said, the events starts at 1 p.m. and then goes until 3 p.m. There will also be entertainment at the event.

“[Attendees can] come in and they can have tea in the main dining room and listen to entertainment or they can come into the recreation room to have a quieter tea and they’ll be soft music in the background. There’ll be dainties and sandwiches and they can wander around for the bake sale and put their name in for the silent auction prizes,” explained Smith.

She said that everyone is welcome to come to support this new project.

“It’s a great cause. The residents will really enjoy it. They’re very excited to see the memory garden start and, of course, to be finished, and just have another space for them to enjoy,” said Smith.
