Darp Days at Neubergthal

Date:

Neubergthal Darp Days took place Sept. 20-21. The event included a number of presentations, including stories shared by Conrad Stoesz in honour of the 100th and 150th anniversary of Mennonite migrations to Canada, and Low German fun by Dennis Reimer.

Lunchtime offered a build-your-own sandwich bar, followed by a village street tour on a flatbed trailer, where visitors could see original homestead sites and hear interesting tales about the early days of Neubergthal.

Local artist Margruite Krahn provided a Mennonite floor painting tour in the Klippenstein house, which is still under renovation. A faspa feast with watermelon and freshly fried roll kuchen rounded out the event.
