Another successful night for Carman Dufferin firefighters

Date:

The third annual Carman Dufferin Fire Department (CDFD) Ball lit up Feb. 7 with another highly successful evening, bringing together community members for a night of celebration, recognition, and support.

Fire Chief Chris Lemky said that despite lower-than-average attendance, he was pleased with the turnout and grateful for the community’s continued backing.

One of the evening’s highlights was the recognition of retired CDFD Public Education Officer Martin Dewit, who was honoured for his 35 years of dedicated service and presented with the 30 Year Governor General Exemplary Service Award.

Guests enjoyed a catered meal prepared by Tracy Bernard, which Lemky described as excellent, ensuring attendees were well fed throughout the night.

Adding to the lively atmosphere, entertainment was provided by the band Up In Flames, which is partly made up of firefighters from the Selkirk and Clandeboye fire departments.

Lemky also expressed his appreciation to the many businesses and individuals whose generosity helped make the event possible.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude once again to all of the businesses and individuals who donated and attended to make this event successful,” he added.

He also thanked the Snoflies Snowmobile Club for their continued support through ticket sales and bartending.
