The Lundar Falcons got back in the win column with a 5-2 triumph over the Arborg Ice Dawgs on Friday night in Arborg.
Lundar’s Dylan Care led the way with a pair of goals, including the eventual game-winner.
The Falcons opened the scoring in the first period on a power-play marker from Liam Russell. Braeden Lukas then made it a two-goal lead in the second, giving Lundar some insurance heading into the final frame.
Care netted his first of the third period before the Ice Dawgs finally found a way past Lundar netminder Dylan Leclair, scoring back-to-back goals to pull within one. Lukas restored the Falcons’ two-goal cushion with a shorthanded marker with just over three minutes remaining.
Care added an empty-netter to seal Lundar’s second regulation win of the season.
Leclair finished with 24 saves to improve his season record to 2-1.
The win lifts the Falcons to 2-6-0-2-2 on the season. Their next game is set for Sunday at home against the La Broquerie Habs, with a 3 p.m. puck drop at Lundar Arena.
